Message	Are all of your splash shields installed? There should be one unerneath the whole front of the car, and one attached to, or directly underneath the filter head at an angle. These will help ward off water better than anything else. Otherwise, just be smart. Don't drive through huge puddles, and don't drive in monsoons. If you're extremely worried, remove it.. but if you plan on doing any mods to the car, not having an open-element filter of some sort will bottleneck the whole system.
